Full Stack Developer (React + Node.js)

Job Overview

Bailjini is building technology that directly affects people's access to justice. As a Full Stack Developer, you will design and build the platform features that power our service: the client portal where families track their loved one's case in real time, the advocate dashboard that manages case assignments and documents, the internal tools that make our team faster, and the public-facing website that serves thousands of high-intent legal queries every month. The work is technically interesting and genuinely meaningful.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Bailjini's client-facing web application (React) and internal dashboard tools
• Develop and maintain the backend API (Node.js) that powers case management, notifications, and reporting
• Implement real-time features: live case status updates, WhatsApp notification integrations, advocate dispatch tracking
• Build and optimise CMS-driven pages for the Bailjini website including service pages, blog, and careers sections
• Integrate third-party services: payment gateways, SMS/WhatsApp API (Twilio, MSG91), document management, and calendar tools
• Own your features end-to-end: from design discussion through development, testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Maintain code quality through testing, code review, and documentation
• Work closely with the UI/UX designer and operations team to turn requirements into shipped product

What We Are Looking For

• 2–5 years of full stack development experience with React and Node.js
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript proficiency
• Experience with REST APIs and ideally some GraphQL exposure
• Comfortable with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Experience deploying to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Good understanding of web performance, SEO technical requirements, and security best practices
• Ability to work independently and ship reliable code in a small team environment

Nice to Have

• Experience building legal tech, healthcare, or other regulated-domain applications
• Familiarity with Next.js for SSR/SSG
• Experience with WhatsApp Business API or similar notification integrations
• Prior startup experience
